Web Writer/Designer

 

OPTIONS Sexual Health Association is looking for a summer student to help optimize our web page.  The position will be responsible for reviewing web pages for currency and deficiencies; identifying new content for the OPTIONS web page; writing text for new pages; graphic design and html coding of content; recommending and installing revisions based on an evaluation of user response to web content.  The successful candidate will have experience in creative writing, HTML language coding and graphic design. Preference will be given to candidates with some computer and computer network management skills.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Optimize OPTIONS' web page
  • Ensure web pages are accurate and up to date
  • Identify web page deficiencies
  • Research, write and post new content
  • Graphic design and html coding of web content
  • Evaluate user response
  • Make recommendations and revisions based on evaluation of user response

 

Qualifications:

  • Sex positive attitude and pro choice values
  • Knowledge of sexual health; practical experience and post secondary training related to the sexual health field is considered an asset
  • Strong communication and creative writing skills
  • Experience with HTML language coding and graphic design
  • Basic network management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to individuals from diverse cultures, gender and sexual orientation and socio-economic backgrounds

 

Start Date:  May 14, 2012

Duration:  9 - 14 weeks

 

Salary:  $14 - $17 per hour based on a 35 hour work week.

Labourer

 

OPTIONS Sexual Health Association is having its flooring replaced this summer while we do business as usual. OPTIONS requires someone to move office furniture and content to prepare each space for flooring. The position will be responsible for developing the critical path, supporting staff with preparation of their space for the move and packing archive and library materials. We are looking for a self-starter, leader and organizer to deal with renovation logistics, packaging, lifting and moving.

 

Start Date:  May 14, 2012

Duration:  9 - 14 weeks

 

Salary:  $14 - $17 per hour based on a 35 hour work week.
