Our Programs

Counselling

Assist individuals to make informed choices about their sexuality and respecting cultural and spiritual diversity as well as the differing needs of individuals according to their stage of life. We offer non-judgmental support and factual information to help people make confident, well-informed decisions.

Counselling and referral services include:

  • free pregnancy testing 
  • birth control options 
  • sexual decision making 
  • pro-choice pregnancy options counselling 
  • male sexuality (male counsellor available) 
  • fertility/infertility 
  • menopause 
  • sexual orientation


Education

Delivered through:

  • Community organizations

To:

  • Youth 
  • Parents 
  • Professionals 
  • Students 
  • Young adults 
  • At risk populations 
  • Older adults

Addressing:

Sexuality issues from birth to death including sexual decision making, understanding gender roles, gender identity, body image, sexual orientation, birth control, safer sex, communication, values, and taking responsibility for one’s sexual health.

Via:

Presentations, workshops, group facilitation, in-service, role play, drama and popular theatre.

You can book a workshop on one of these topics or tell us your specific needs and we will design a workshop specifically for you.

 

Consultation and Collaboration

OPTIONS provides sexual health education, training and support to others in the community such as parents, teachers, counselors, health care providers, and community workers. We also work in partnership with community agencies to develop comprehensive sexual health services for the community.

Multicultural Education

OPTIONS works with individuals and new immigrant communities to make informed choices about their sexuality, respecting cultural and spiritual diversity, to assist in finding common ground between traditional values and practices and the context of Canadian Society.
