Immigrant and Refugee Women Fertility Project
Sexuality stopped being a taboo and has become an accepted health concern, when involving Canadian society and effective actions addressed to Immigrants and Refugees. Issues such as gender, fertility and settlement have impacted immigrants' healthy integration, and women are the most affected, directly and indirectly.
OPTIONS, in partnership with Status of Women Canada and ASPSH (Alberta Society for the Promotion of Sexual Health), heads this project which is composed of three main points:
- One-on-One Consultation» confidential and professional. Designed for immigrant and refugee women who need some support with Sexual Health issues.
- Peer Group Training» women can learn more about Birth Control and Fertility for their own knowledge or to pass on to peers in their community.
- Community Development » accessing sexual health information and services
