Pregnancy Options

To find out that you are pregnant when you have not planned for it may leave you feeling confused and unsure of what to do next.  Feelings such as shock, denial, anxiety, fear, and even happiness, pride, anger, and depression are all common.  It is important to sort out your feelings so that you can make a decision about your pregnancy.  In order to make a good decision for yourself you will need accurate information on all the options you are considering.  It would also be helpful to have emotional support and a chance to reflect on your options and decision.  The choices are often not easy when pregnancy is unplanned; but, since you are the person who will live with the decision, be sure that you are making it for yourself.

This section of our website contains information and resources designed to assist with decision-making around an unplanned pregnancy. Click the links below for more information on each topic area.

Recognizing a Pro-Choice Counselling Centre

A pro-choice pregnancy options counselling centre will provide accurate, factual information about all three pregnancy options: adoption, abortion, and parenting. A pro-choice counselling agency will support a woman's right to choose the option she feels is best for her without bias or judgement.

To learn more about some of the concerns related to anti-choice pregnancy crisis or counselling centres, please read the following article from the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada.
